Preschool Daily Schedule

Hi – I’m Bonni Draper and I am the Pre-K teacher in both the Bruneau and Grand View Elementaries for the school year of 2011-2012.  It will be fun to be a part of both schools and, though at different schools and on different days, the students will be on the same schedule / lesson plan.  Bruneau students will meet on Tues. / Thurs. and Grand View students will meet on Wed. / Fri.’s.  School will begin with breakfast and end after lunch. If a child is not to stay for lunch please pick them up, through the office, at or before 11:30.  Those who stay will need to be picked up by 12:00.
In Pre-K our emphasis is placed upon the learning of the alphabet (upper and lower case – names and sounds), math – the recognition of the numbers 0-10, counting from 0-20, 8 basic shapes, 8 basic colors, and also the recognizing and writing of their names.  In the process of doing this we are learning to take turns, share, listen, and to follow simple directions as we dance, sing, wiggle lots, and do fun crafts.  The Reading Mastery Language Series will also be used every day in our learning.  Through lots of reading, counting, nursery rhyming, weather watching, season discovering, days of the week identifying, seed planting, social skills developing, ect.,  we will find that our days are busy and go quickly as we work to be ready for kindergarten… it’s great to be 4 going on 5!

Parents are invited and encouraged to come to school and volunteer in the classroom.
