On Thursday, December 12The USS Foundation donated new shiny bikes to every student at Bruneau Elementary School through their Adopt-A-Bike program.
Bruneau Elementary was one of the two finalist schools from across the country selected to receive new bikes through Adopt-A-Bike because of the financial struggles of the student’s families for basic necessities as a result of the current economic slump
The donation of bicycles will play an important role in helping them achieve the education they need to succeed in life by providing a reliable way to travel to school and receive a needed education for a brighter future. In addition, the program will also demonstrate how much others care about them while giving them something under their tree.
The event will consist of a school assembly where the children will receive their bicycles from Santa. USS Foundation Founder Adel Sayegh, who grew up in poverty, will deliver an encouraging presentation to motivate the children to strive for excellence and success in their lives.
Over the past two years, the non-profit organization has delivered over 1,100 bicycles to disadvantaged children at elementary schools in Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina and Ohio. This year the USS Foundation will provide bicycles to schools in Idaho and Florida.
